Wrapped up in their scarves and beanies, the Year One girls braved the cold recently to visit Richmond Fire Station. The girls enjoyed a walk through Richmond, a bus ride and an exciting walk over a foot bridge before arriving at the station. After meeting the team of firefighters, the girls were treated to a tour around a fire engine (as well as sitting inside) and particularly enjoyed using a hose to spray targets. The trip ended a few minutes earlier than expected when the alarms went off and the firefighters had to attend a call.
The girls then realised just how fast firefighters can change and leave the building in the case of an emergency!
