Pre-School/Nursery
Pre-School Curriculum
The Little Vic’s curriculum is intended to give the girls all the skills they need to be confident learners by the time they move into Reception.
The Old Vicarage School has opted out of the Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum, but Little Vic and our Reception classes follow the Government’s Curriculum Guidance.
Our children are expected to achieve most of the Little Vic Pre-School/Nursery Goals by the end of Pre-School.
We plan a curriculum that helps our children make good progress towards, and where appropriate beyond, these goals. It also prepares them for learning in Reception.
The Little Vic Curriculum is organised into seven areas of learning and development:
- Communication and Language
- Personal, Social and Emotional Development
- Physical Development
- Literacy
- Mathematics
- Understanding the World
- Creative Development
Our twin daughter’s attended the Little Vic in 2021-2022. We were keen for the girls to develop their individual personalities and interests. As twin siblings, they are often treated as a unit! Our girls, were encouraged to build on their strengths, developing solid foundations, through play and structured learning. We were provided with bespoke weekly feedback, which further supported home learning. We believe that the confidence the girls now demonstrate, in Reception, is down to the caring and experienced Little Vic team- thank you!
