Welcome from our Head

“The school fully meets its aim to enable every pupil to be the best she can, whether academically or in the arts, drama or sports. Pupils display exemplary attitudes to learning.”

ISI Educational Quality Inspection - June 2019

A t the Old Vicarage, we ensure your daughter is given an exceptional start, both academically and socially, with happy memories of her time at school. We aim to fulfil her potential and exceed your expectations.

We are non-selective in our Little Vic Pre-School and Reception, and are very proud of our outstanding academic achievements. Our classes have up to 15 girls and our experienced and inspirational staff encourage self-esteem and give them a strong academic foundation. We are equally proud of the all-round education the girls receive; whether it be musical, dramatic, artistic or sporting. Girls develop confidence, self-discipline and respect for others. We are based in a beautiful Grade 2* listed “castle” on Richmond Hill and, while we retain traditional values, we have a clear vision for the future. Our magnificent new ICT suite, adoption of Firefly as our VLE and commitment to enhancing the sporting provision for the girls, will attest to this and new developments are planned for the coming years.

We hope you will get a good feel for us from our website. Please contact the school office for details of our next open day or to arrange to see the school in action. I look forward to meeting you.

Mrs Gillian Linthwaite M.A. (Oxon) P.G.C.E.

Headmistress

The Old Vicarage School

“Pupils across the school exhibit substantial self-confidence and self-awareness.”
