FTE £36,447 – 49,967 (depending on experience) per annum

 Old Vicarage School is a highly successful and thriving independent prep school for girls between the ages of 3 and 11 years. We are looking to appoint an inspiring, creative and well qualified KS2 French teacher. This is a part time and permanent role from April 2023.

Teaching of this age range is done by subject specialists and you will be responsible for teaching French. Other duties will include:

  • To teach the subject throughout the Upper School (Years 3 to 6), offering inspiration and stimulation to pupils in order to ensure a high level of creativity and motivation. 
  • To ensure that there are schemes of work for each year.
  • To be committed to the safeguarding and protection of children, show an understanding of the issues surrounding the safeguarding of children and follow the procedures in school policies and handbooks to ensure the safeguarding of all pupils at the school.
  • To act as the point of contact for Dragons into Europe who provide our Mandarin teaching and ensure the teacher is fully briefed on their role.
  • To organise, and be part of, the annual five day Field Trip to France.

    Applicants will be expected to have strong communication skills, a commitment to excellence, a sense of fun and the imagination and desire to use technology to enhance the learning experience for all pupils.

    Candidates should have a QTS, at least two years’ KS2 teaching experience and be supportive and sympathetic to the ethos of teaching in an independent school.

    The salary will be based on the candidate’s skills, experience and ability to contribute to the life of the school.
